Below is information for use of this app, troubleshooting technical issues, and answering frequently asked questions. Lets get started!
What the purpose of this app?
This app was made for card counters and aspiring card counters to be able to practice every part of counting cards.
The user should be able to create an experience custom fit for them to practice counting, as well as betting.
Content Description
Play
This will open up the main game of Blackjack, with a deck and penetration amount that you define in your settings.
Settings
The settings page allows you to customize your game to fit what you want. Below is a brief description of what each option does.
- Dealer Play – A choice between whether the dealer hits or stands on a soft 17. It is better for the player if they stand, but if you have no other options, basic strategy slightly changes on a dealer hitting.
- Play assist – Highlights the correct play to make
- Bet assist – If on, gives a choice between three different bet assists
- Manual – The player will get a pop up telling them to change their bet if it is incorrect
- Auto – The players bet will automatically change to the “correct” bet based on their settings
- Soft assist – Red text will appear above your bet if it is not currently correct.
- Decision Time limit – if on, the game will automatically deal or stand if time runs out, depending on what is applicable. You can change the time you have.
- Show Counts after Play – The true and running count will appear as a tappable popup prior to dealing
- Menu Decorations – Will toggle any extra decorations on the menus.
- Starting Amount – How much money the player starts with
- Unit bet amount – This is the lowest amount you plan to bet.
- Max bet(Units) – This is the maximum amount of units you plan to bet
- True count for max bet – At what true count do you plan to have your maximum bet out? (I.e, if you set this to 4, when the true count is four, you will be expected to bet the max unit bet set above)
- A.I Players – Will add up to two extra players at the table. This is mostly to make counting more difficult
- Deck Amount – How many decks of cards your game will be played with
- Penetration amount – How many of the decks of cards will be played before the shoe of cards is reshuffled.
Store
The store is the place to spend your count coins. Currently it only has new backgrounds. Once you purchase a background, you can switch to it whenever you would like.
Tutorial
A collection of tutorials that will guide a player through everything they need to know to begin learning counting
Extra Modes
Any modes outside of the base game. These are ways to practice counting with some of the complexity of a full game removed.
Known Issues
- Users who use accessibility options for text size may have some content overlap.
- Simulator not running asynchronously. Temporarily reduced max simulated hands at a time to 2000 to prevent crashes and app hanging for extremely long times
What if I have technical issues?
The app was designed using Swiftui, and makes no external calls. This means any technical issues are either bugs, or an issue with the hardware.
If there’s a display issue or something works unexpectedly, please reach out using the contact page, and let us know what device you are running the app on, as well as a brief description of the problem, and we’ll be sure to respond as soon as possible.
There is no need for any set up or settings changes for the app to run, although those who use large text accessibility may have some text be slightly cramped.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: Does this app use real money?
- A: No.
- Q: Can I purchase count coins with real money?
- A: There’s currently have no plans to make in app purchases.
- Q: Can you guarantee I will win money playing Blackjack?
- A: Before you go and bet it all, gambling is ALWAYS a risk, and it’s never a good idea to gamble with money you don’t have. Counting cards may give you an advantage, but it will take thousands upon thousands of hands to see a significant uptrend in money for most people. If you can’t afford that, I recommend playing for fun, and treating counting cards as a personal challenge to try and increase your chances of winning.
- Q: How does the simulator work?
- A: Using your settings, it will play out hands while keeping perfect count and always following basic strategy.
